SHOPPERS have been encouraged to show their support for local produce with a full range of Camperdown Dairy Company (CDC) products now available at Camperdown’s Ritchies IGA supermarket.

The Manifold Street supermarket’s refrigeration section now proudly boasts a full selection of the dairy manufacturer’s products.

CDC has also taken the opportunity to roll out its newly branded two litre ‘Camperdown Dairy Company’ whole milk and reduced fat milk products.

The dairy display includes the factory’s natural and salt free butter products, various yoghurt flavours offered in 200 gram, 500 gram and one kilogram tubs and its highly successful 75 gram kids yoghurt pouches.

CDC chief executive officer Peter Skene said the company was “absolutely rapt” to see its products on Ritchies’ shelves.

“The layout looks fantastic and I encourage people to come into the supermarket and support our products.

“All our milk is locally supplied and our products are 100 per cent natural.

“Customers also have the comfort of knowing that their purchases help to support more than 40 employees at our Camperdown plant.”

Mr Skene said Richies IGA was the first supermarket to stock CDC’s full range of products.

“We really have to thank store manager Dave Schmidt for this opportunity,” he said.

“It was Dave who convinced Richies’ head office to stock our products and support us as a local manufacturer.”

Mr Schmidt said it made sense to stock the products when it was manufactured less than one kilometre down the road.

“It’s great to see local product on our shelves and our shoppers are appreciating it too,” he said.

“The Camperdown Dairy Company brand is selling well, people like the products and feel like they’re supporting their own community.”

CDC general manager Chris Melville said Ritchies customers had the benefit of knowing that the product was delivered the same day it was processed.

“You can’t get any fresher than that,” he said.
