Win streak continues
POMBORNEIT’S under 16 boys team has made it two wins in a row with a 50 run win over Cobden at Pomborneit on Sunday.
Batting first in damp conditions, the Bulls made 3/177 from their 35 overs.
Openers George Sadler (50 retired from 51 balls) and Josh Reynolds (50 retired from 63) led the way, with Jonty Raven making 30 from 36 balls.
Cobden replied with 6/127 from its 35 overs.
The junior Bulls got three run outs, while Jonty Raven, Josh Reynolds and Sam Tolland took a wicket each.
Tuesday night’s under 17 boys game against Apollo Bay at Pomborneit was abandoned due to the weather.
On Friday night, Pomborneit’s under 17 girls had a four run loss to Irrewarra at CSC Oval in a much improved performance.
Thirty retired from 24 balls from Isla Spokes led the way in Pomborneit’s score of 5/96.
The home team replied with 3/100, with Tylarah Ganim and Meg Nolan taking a wicket each.
In the under 14 boys on Friday night, Pomborneit registered a 77 run win over City United at Pomborneit.
Captain Noah Boyd took 3/12 from four overs, with Bailey Fox taking 2/2 from three in United's 48 all out.
The Bulls replied with 3/125 from 30 overs.
Bailey Fox top scored with 22 retired, Max Rahles-Rahbula made 19 retired and Noah Boyd 18.
In the under 13 girls on Sunday Pomborneit had a 16 run win over Irrewarra at CSC Oval.
Zoe Unwin top scored with 10 in Pomborneit's 4/100, with Emily Reynolds making nine and Skarlette Wakeling eight.
Irrewarra replied with 5/84, Pomborneit getting four run outs in a fantastic fielding effort.
Monday night's under 13 boys game was washed out.
This week's junior games see the under 17 boys play Stoneyford at Pirron Yallock on Tuesday, the under 17 girls play Bookaar at Pomborneit on Friday, the under 16 boys play Bookaar at Frederick St on Sunday, the under 14 boys play Stoneyford at Pirron Yallock on Friday, the under 13 girls host Colac at Pomborneit on Sunday while on Monday the under 13 boys host the Storm at Pomborneit.
