Two injured following collision

POLICE are investigating the circumstances behind a two-vehicle crash on Bowen Street in Camperdown last Saturday, which left both drivers injured.

Corangamite Senior Sergeant Bill Caldow said police were called to the incident at 10.45am on Saturday, May 10 on the corner of Bowen and Fenton Streets.

“A utility that was travelling west in Fenton Street collided with a sedan that was travelling along Bowen Street,” he said.

“The Hyundai sedan was then pushed into a power pole.

“There was one occupant in each vehicle.

“Both were taken to Warrnambool Hospital – not with life-threating injuries, but they both were injured.

“We believe there weren’t any witnesses to the collision, and police enquiries are still ongoing.”

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said an ambulance unit responded to the incident at around 10.40am

“A woman in her 50s was transported by road to Warrnambool Base Hospital in a stable condition after being treated for upper body injuries,” the spokesperson said.

“A man in his 70s was transported by road to Warrnambool Base Hospital in a stable condition after being treated for upper and lower body injuries.”

Snr Sgt Caldow urged drivers to take care on the roads following the incident.
