Tragedy strikes in Simpson
MAJOR Collision Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for dashcam footage as they investigate a fatal collision in Simpson from Sunday night.
“It is understood a Suzuki camper van and a Holden Commodore collided on Lavers Hill-Cobden Road about 7.45pm,” a Victoria Police spokesperson said.
“The passenger of the Commodore, a 26-year-old Cobden man, died at the scene.
“The driver of the Commodore, a 24-year-old Colac man, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“The driver of the camper van, a 19-year-old German national, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries where he remains under police guard.
“The male passenger of the camper van, a 21-year-old German national, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“Investigations are ongoing into the circumstances of the collision and police are asking anyone driving in the area around the time of the collision to check their dashcam.”
