Tough round for Bloods

SATURDAY saw Terang Mortlake record its second consecutive loss, going down to Warrnambool by 19 points in the round eight Hampden League senior football match at Reid Oval.

The Bloods held the lead at quarter time and half-time, with scores level at the last change.

Warrnambool kicked five goals to two in the last quarter to run out 13.18.96 to 11.11.77 winners.

Best for the Bloods were William Moloney, Tayte McMaster, Ryley Hutchins, Jarryd Hay, Tyler Vickers and Joe Arundell.

Coach Lewy Taylor and Arundell led the disposal getters with 38 each, Taylor with 29 kicks and nine handballs, Arundell with 31 kicks and seven handballs.

Xavier Vickers had 28 possessions, Hutchins 27, Jesse Fowler 22, Tyler Vickers 21 and Jack Fowler 20.

Xavier Vickers once again led the Bloods tackle count with a match high 11.

Key forwards Will Kain and Jackson Paine kicked three and two goals respectively, with Hutchins also kicking two.

This Saturday third-placed Terang Mortlake host second-placed Koroit at the DC Farran Oval.

In the reserves, Warrnambool again dominated, winning 16.18.114 to 2.1.13.

Best for the Bloods were Oscar Curran, Christopher Bant and Henry Carroll, with Carroll and Will Berryman kicking a goal each.

The under 18 football saw Warrnambool score an 18.11.119 to 3.4.22 win.

Caleb Bamford, Lachlan Primmer and Max Heffernan were best for Terang Mortlake, with Bamford kicking two goals.

Warrnambool scored a 16.16.112 to 4.3.27 win in the under 16 game.

Kai Crawley, Michael Woolhouse, Arlo Herry and Paddy Meade were best for the Bloods in the loss.

In the under 14s, Warrnambool won 9.14.68 to 0.0.0.

Finn Scanlon, Harper Dillon, Leo Slater and Liam Kenna were best for Terang Mortlake.

The under 12 football saw a 12.10.82 to 3.4.22 win for Warrnambool.

Hayden Clifford, Lachlan Moore, Ollie Primmer and Morgan Primmer were best for the Bloods, with Clifford and the two Primmers kicking a goal each.

Terang Mortlake’s women’s football team was forced to forfeit its game against South Warrnambool on Sunday.

This Sunday the Terang Mortlake women are scheduled to play Warrnambool at the DC Farran Oval.

In the Open netball, Warrnambool recorded a 54-38 win.

Alice Tanner, Lyla Grundy and Aimee Moloney were best for the Bloods, with Grundy shooting 28 goals and Jacqui Arundell 10.

The division one game saw Warrnambool win 40-29.

Best for Terang Mortlake were Maddison Chesshire, Ellen-Rose Lee and Charli Dillon, with Chesshire shooting 20 goals.

The division two game ended with a 34-31 win to Warrnambool.

Holly Jones, Sarah Davis and Molly Kavenagh were best for the Bloods, with Ava Nolan scoring 28 goals.

Terang Mortlake took out the division three netball with a 36-27 win.

Best for the Bloods were Emma Keogh, Leanne Hutchins and Tess Harris, with Keogh scoring 20 goals and Isla Primrose 16.

The 17 and under game saw Warrnambool win 40-35.

Madelyn Clarke, Tayla Bell and Maddison Wallace were best for Terang Mortlake, with Lyla Grundy shooting 27 goals and Clarke eight.

Warrnambool also got the points in the 17 and under reserves with a 24-21 win.

Kara Bell, Emma Hill and Lily Guthrie were best for the Bloods, with Tahnee Sachs shooting 14 goals and Violet Dillon seven.

Warrnambool was too strong in the 15 and under game, winning 42-24.

Best in the loss for Terang Mortlake were Poppy Moloney, Tilly Harrison and Chloe Bouchier, with Bouchier shooting 19 goals.

The 15 and under reserves game saw Warrnambool win 20-13.

Grace Boshier, Tiah Moloney and Poppy Moloney were best for Terang Mortlake, with Moloney scoring six goals.

The 13 and under game saw Terang Mortlake register a 28-19 win.

Elise Jewell, Imogen Barr and Annabelle Blackford were best for the Bloods, with Annabelle Blackford shooting 18 goals and Imogen Barr 10.

The 13 and under reserves netball went the way of Warrnambool who scored an 18-15 win.

Daisy Sargeant, Mary Heffernan and Charlotte Boshier were Terang Mortlake’s best, with Sargeant shooting 14 goals.
