Timboon Lions Club Notes
WE at Timboon Lions were delighted at the public interest generated by the lifting of our time capsule outside the district town hall during the Timboon 150 years celebration.
Members especially appreciated that a range of Timboon P-12 students were among those who came to watch the capsule’s retrieval.
It was originally buried in 1975 and was lifted again and refreshed twenty-five years ago.
It was also fascinating to see so many citizens or their descendants who had items in the capsule come to the Timboon amphitheatre on the celebration Saturday to reclaim their treasured property.
The capsule will be reburied once more at its original spot outside the district town hall.
There is still time for anyone who wishes to have an item buried or reburied to do so.
For this purpose, a container has been placed at the Timboon Pharmacy in which items can be deposited.
The container will remain at the pharmacy until Thursday, April 24.
