Tickner and Darcy win at Cobden
ELEVEN ladies competed in the Royal Women’s Hospital 4BBB pairs stableford competition at the Cobden Golf Club.
The competition, held on Wednesday, May 28, was won by Pat Tickner and Ellen Darcy on 41 points, on countback from Ev Boyd and Marie Smith on 41.
Nearest the pins: A grade – 4th Chloe Healey, 10th Sherine Healey; B grade – 10th Pat Tickner; C grade – 4th Netty Hose; 7th Ellen Darcy, nearest second shot on the 8th (A grade) Ellen Darcy.
On June 4, nine players competed in the monthly medal competition.
A grade was won by Ellen Darcy on 72 nett, from Carmel Darcy on 75.
The monthly medal winner was Ellen Darcy on 91-18-72. She also won the silver spoon competition.
Nearest the pins: A grade – 4th and 10th Sherine Healey; C grade – 4th Jo Hintum; 7th Ellen Darcy, nearest second shot on the 8th (A grade) Sherine Healey.
Balls down the line went to Alex Holster on 75 nett.
Next week will be left versus right handers stableford.
The monthly medal and putting competition (stroke) attracted a strong field last Saturday.
S. Rix finished on 75 nett to win A grade from D. Bath on 76 nett.
Balls down the line: M. Loving, A. Giles and R. Barlow.
Nearest the pins: 4th C. Sargeant, 7th D. Bath and 10th T. Marks.
The monthly medal went to S. Rix on nett 75 while D. Bath won putting with 28.
This Saturday will be privilege pot (stableford).
