Swans re-appoint Judd
CARAMUT Football Netball Club has reappointed Scott Judd as senior football coach for the 2026 season.
Next season will be Judd’s third year in charge of the Swans.
“It’s good to get it done and start working on next year,” Judd said.
Judd and wife Claire welcomed daughter Marni just over three weeks ago in a dual celebration for the Swans mentor.
“I’d actually committed to Caramut a few weeks ago but we’ve had a bit going on over those past few weeks,” he said.
The gains made by Caramut’s senior team in Judd’s two seasons in charge was a key factor in recommitting.
“We’ve got two wins this year, while there’s been at least five or six other games we could have or probably should have won.”
While frustrated with the lack of wins, Judd is pleased with the direction of the club.
“We’ve improved a lot over the two years, we’re definitely on an upward trend.”
Keeping the list together and looking to recruit is the immediate focus for Judd.
“We’ve done a lot of work on retainment, there’s a fair chunk of our list already on board for 2026, while recruiting will also be a focus,” he said.
The success of the Swans under 16.5 team is also a big positive for the Caramut coach.
“Our juniors are going really well, they’re currently second on the ladder and this year will be the third year out of the past four that they’ve made finals.
“Having juniors going well helps with depth, and having strong juniors, hopefully with a bit of success, certainly helps with recruiting.”
