First steps: Wannon candidate Dan Tehan has announced a commitment from an elected Coalition Government for Derrinallum’s plans for a skate park.

Wannon candidate Dan Tehan has secured this commitment to ensure local youth and families in Derrinallum and the wider district have an outdoor space that supports active living and social connection.

“I’ve had strong feedback from the local community about the need for a new skate park to provide a safe, inclusive, and modern facility for young people,” Mr Tehan said.

“I’ll always listen and fight for our community.

“This project will offer young people a fun and healthy outlet, while also creating a vibrant community hub.

“This commitment is part of the Liberals’ plan to strengthen our local communities and to get Australia back on track.

President of the Derrinallum Progress Association Kevin Molesworth welcomed the announcement, which was made at the Derrinallum Recreation Reserve last Sunday.

“The skateboard park will provide a wonderful outdoor play space and a much-needed meeting place for young and old, families, visitors and tourists,” he said.

“I want to thank Dan for listening to our community and responding to our request for support for this project.”
