Sun set to shine on the Terang Cup
THE Terang Cup is set to showcase some of the best in country racing this weekend, with great weather anticipated and hopes for bumper crowds.

The eight-race event will be headlined this Sunday, April 13 by the $70,000 Sungold Terang Cup and $40,000 Westmeath Handicap.
Fashions on the field is sure to be a hit with the weather forecast predicting a sunny 28 degrees and mild winds.
TAB facilities will be trackside in addition to umbrella packages, a mix and mingle marquee and even a pizza van dishing up all the favourites.
Terang Racing Club president Shane Scally said he was anticipating a great day.
“This is our main day with good racing from good quality horses and some big-name trainers and jockeys,” he said.
“We hope everyone can come out and have a great day.
Terang Racing Club vice president Janice Harris said Terang punched well above its weight to field a bumper day of racing.
“Cup day is always really well supported,” she said.
“The mix and mingle marquee is well attended and a lot of people have sweeps, so there’s some fun for everyone on the day.
“It’s a great race day.
“The track looks fabulous and the upgrades we’ve had to the fencing are looking great, so it’s a good opportunity for people to get out and about, and support racing in their local community.”
Mrs Harris said the Terang Cup is often viewed as the start of the May Racing Carnival, which helps to draw in people from across the state.
“We have jockeys and trainers from everywhere and in the lead up to the May Racing Carnival helps to draw in everyone.”
A shuttle bus will be running throughout the day from the Middle Hotel.
