Staff dedication recognised at Sunnyside
FIVE staff members of Sunnyside House were last week recognised for a combined 45 years of service to the aged care facility.

The recognition was part of Sunnyside’s celebration of National Aged Care Employee Day, which was held last Thursday.
Sunnyside House chief executive officer Jo Forrest said the day was celebrated with a special afternoon tea attended by residents, staff and members of the board of directors.
“National Aged Care Employee Day is a meaningful opportunity to pause and acknowledge the dedication, compassion, and hard work of all our staff,” she said.
“It serves as a reminder that aged care is not simply a series of tasks – it is about building and nurturing relationships with each other, with residents, and with their families.”
Melissa Drayton and Janice Salau were both presented certificates recognising their five years of work at the facility.
Dot Wilson and Janice Bateman were recognised for their 10 years of dedication to Sunnyside House.
While absent from the afternoon tea, Corrine Maslin was recognised for her 15 years of work at Sunnyside.
“We were honoured to have the chairman of the board Tony Dupleix join me in presenting awards to staff in recognition of their outstanding contributions,” Ms Forrest said.
“At Sunnyside, we take great pride in fostering these supportive and respectful relationships, which are central to the quality of care and services we provide.
“It was a great opportunity for me to thank everyone who continues to embody these values in their daily work.”
