Stableford enjoyed at Terang

THIRTY-SEVEN players contested a stableford event at the Terang Golf Club last Saturday.

A grade was won by Liam Venn (8) 40 points from runner-up Paddy O’Connor (15) 39.

Damien Glennen (17) 37 won B grade on countback from Peter Hrabar (20) 37.

Balls down the line went to Josh Brown (1) 35, Danny Kenna (16) 35, Cate Glennen (17) 34 and Neale Grundy (11) 34.

Nearest the pins: 3rd Mark Couzens, 6th Tom Powel, 8th Mark Sargeant and 11th Tom Powell.

Next week will be the May monthly medal and putting.

Last Thursday saw 27 players enjoy an all-day event.

The winner was Aileen Clarke with 34 points on a countback from Janet Saunders and Margie Driscoll, both on 34.

The ladies’ nearest the pins: 3rd Maureen Bond and Jo Aundell, 9th from off the green Jenny Meade, and the 11th was also Jenny Meade.

The men’s winner was Billy Wood on 37 points, with the runner-up George Beasley on 34.

Nearest the pins for the men: 6th Daniel Kenna, 8th Max Kavanagh and 11th George Beasley.

Balls down the line went to Margie Driscoll 34 points, Terry Coolahan on 33, Elaine Hrabar 33, Ryley Hutchins 33 and Harvey Roberts 32.

Four players competed in the nine-hole event, with Bernie Kenna the winner on 18 points.

Next week will be an all-day stableford, ladies and men’s 18 hole and nine hole events.
