TWO-time premiership skipper Grant Place admits it was a simple decision to extend his tenure as leader of his beloved Pomborneit Cricket Club into a third season.
The 29 year-old was recently announced as the Bulls captain once again, with Place guiding the club to back-to-back division one flags in his first two years.
He said both the club and himself did not need to contemplate the decision much before accepting the role, with the Bulls hierarchy and Place both keen to extend his tenure.
“I wasn’t really asked by the club, they just sort of said they were going to announce it on social media and that was how it happened,” Place said.
“We’d already had a meeting a few weeks earlier about the upcoming (2020/21) season; who we were going to lose and possibly recruit, so I assumed I was getting offered the job anyway.
“I thought there was no reason why not, I’d already virtually made up my mind that I’d do it again.”
Place said he enjoyed leading Pomborneit week-in, week-out.
