Special weekend of hockey
THERE was a cracking weekend of hockey action at Mockridge Park, with two stand-out games.
Light Blue came out on top in a tight contest, edging past Yellow with a 2-1 win.
This was a solid team effort and a thrilling finish which kept the crowd on their toes.
Green dominated in a comm-anding performance, scoring eight unanswered goals against Blue.
This powerhouse display showcased skill, speed and great team-work.
Well done to all players, coaches and supporters for another great round.
The women’s team wore black arm bands last week in memory of popular club member, Shoni, whose love of hockey and kindness will long be remembered.
The team was able to secure a solid 13-2 win.
The Lakers put up a strong fight against the Strikers on Saturday but went down 5-1 in tough conditions.
A big shout out to all players, volunteers and supporters for their energy and enthusiasm.
