Season ends for basketballers

TIMBOON Basketball Association has celebrated the end of its current season, crowning its premiers and Most Valuable Players (MVP) in various divisions.

In the senior men’s grand final, Boon Boys defeated Celtics 39-35.

Landyn Muller de Vent took out both the season and grand final MVP awards.

In the under 18 boys’ grand final, Wildcats defeated Phoenix 40-30 in what was a great game.

Congratulations to Mitchell Plozza who was awarded both the grand final and season MVP awards, while Landyn Muller de Vent was the season runner-up MVP.

In the under 16 girls’ competition, Lightning defeated Flams 32-30 in a spectacular game.

Many thanks to coaches Dean, Ellen and Brad.

The Flames coach’s award went to Isla Davis while Maddie Spokes took out the Lightning coach’s award.

The grand final MVP was Eliza Gardner.

In the under 13 mixed grand final, Mini Ballers defeated Alley-Oops in a close match, 50-47.

The grand final MVP award went to Menzel Cook.

Rory Hollick took home the season MVP, with Fletcher Hickey runner-up.

The association’s youngest basketballers enjoyed a Ford Aussie Hoops/Timboon Mini Taipans program.

Many thanks to coaches Zac Ellemor, Mitch Plozza and Martha Andrew for teaching participants new basketball drills and skills.

Thanks also to Lochard Energy for donating new jerseys for the program and to Basketball Australia for its support.

Timboon Basketball Association offers both junior and senior competitions, with a new season set to start this month.

The annual meeting will be held on October 22.
