Schafer leads championship

JORDAN Wareham showed form on the Mortlake golf course last Saturday to take out the second round of club championships.

The stroke event attracted a good field, with Wareham finishing on 29-92-72, ahead of runner-up Tyler Schafer on 8-81-73.

Nearest the pins: 3/12 Clint Baker, 6/15 Jordan Wareham and 9/18 Steve Hubbard.

Balls down the line went to Clint Baker, Merv Hampson and Peter Plamer.

After two rounds, Tyler Schafer is leading the club championship on 82-81 (163), with Clint Baker the runner-up 82-82 (164).

B grade went to Les Dawson with 83-94 (177) followed by Ben Boers 91-89 (180).

Next week’s event will be stroke (third round of the club championship).
