Rowe wins at Timboon
LAST Saturday saw members play a stableford round at the Timboon Golf Club.
A grade winner was Jack Rowe with 39 points from Rodney Edge with 38 points and Peter Bartlett, a visitor from Minyip, finished with 37 points.
B grade winner was Chris Bartlett, a visitor from Heywood with 40 points, on a countback from Barry Cook.
Third was Andrew Gant with 38 points.
Nutrien Harcourts nearest the pins were: 5th Barry Cook, 7th Charlie Grist, 10th Jack Rowe and 14th John Bertram.
Neil Gowland won a ball for his second shot to the 11th.
On Thursday the 12 holes Kazza’s Railway View Chicken Day was won Gavin Rundle with 30 points from Wes Hollick with 29 points.
Nearest the pins: 5th Peter Delaney and on the 12th was Rohan Johns.
This Friday, April 25 will be the Anzac Day challenge – Timboon v Peterborough, at Peterborough.
The event will start with registrations at 10am, with a shotgun start from 10.30am.
Anyone wishing to play needs to send a message before Wednesday 3pm for catering purposes.
This Saturday, April 26, will be a stroke monthly medal.
Players should be there by 10am for a 10.30am shotgun start (bookings on MiScore).
There will also be a random draw for playing groups – to be done on MiScore.
Fourteen ladies played stableford in the third round of the silverspoon competition.
The winner was Vera Convey on 38 points, from runner-up Judy Delaney on 36.
Balls down the line went to Linda McKenzie 35 on a countback from Lynne Netwton and Nellie Cashmore.
Nearest the pin on the second shot on the 7th and 14th was Judy Walsh.
The Nutrien ball went to Biddy Weel.
