Rain a welcome sight over Terang, Mortlake
AVERAGE rain levels fell over the region last month as drought conditions finally begin to increase.

July proved another reprieve for the farmers of the region after the rain gauges in Terang and Mortlake experienced a return to normality.
This marks the second consecutive month of consistent rain after rain totals in June surged well above the long-term average.
Terang experienced 81.2mm of rain throughout July, just 2mm below the long-term average total.
Similar to the month prior, the result was bolstered thanks to significant rain experienced over a short period – with more than 40mm falling between July 25-28.
The highest rainfall tally over 24 hours was recorded on July 28 when 18.6mm of rain hit the ground.
The tally marks a decline on the same month last year, with the 98.6mm falling in July 2024 proving to be among the few bouts of rain experienced.
