Power shines at league awards

KOLORA Noorat’s Courtney Garner has finished runner-up in the Warrnambool and District League’s MVP award.

Presented at the league’s annual vote count and presentation evening last week, the award recognised Garner’s strong season on the court for Power’s A grade side.

Garner finished the home and away season with 32 votes (along with South Rovers’ Georgia White); both just two votes behind the eventual winner, Timboon’s Laura Rosolin on 34.

Kolora Noorat’s B grade netball side also received league honours, winning the B grade ‘team award.’

Club stalwart Carolyn Carlin also took home an award, receiving the Logie Watson Volunteer of the Year trophy, while footballer Fred Beasley was named in the WDFNL Football Team of the Year.
