The Power currently sits fourth on the league ladder and will face the third-placed Allansford Cats at Noorat on Saturday.

Reflecting on last weekend’s 51-29 goal win over South Rovers at Walter Oval, A grade coach Laura Bourke said she was happy with how her side performed while also being impressed with the improvement shown by South.

“To their credit, South really gave us a good run for our money; they’ve shown real improvement this season which is a credit to them and it’s also great for the league,” Bourke said.

“I thought our transition from defence to our attacking end worked well on the weekend and our goalies, who are a relatively new combination, really gelled which was also rewarding.

“We’ll have a good chat about this weekend’s game at training on Thursday night and as always we won’t go into Saturday with any expectations.

“We had a few players out the last time we met the Cats (in round two) and lost by 20 goals so we’ll be hoping to turn that around and come home with the win.”

Bourke, defender Ailish Glennen and young goalie Matilda Curran were all absent from the court for the previous clash so Bourke said she was looking forward to seeing what the team could bring this Saturday.

“It will be a great game and we’re looking forward to the challenge. It’s an important one to win (as they all are) but it would set us up well heading in to the last part of the home and away season.”

Other results on the netball courts last weekend for the Power were as follows:

A reserve – South Rovers defeated Kolora Noorat 41-27.

B grade – Kolora Noorat defeated South Rovers 30-29.

17 and under – Kolora Noorat defeated South Rovers 49-11.

15 and under – South Rovers defeated Kolora Noorat 24-21.

13 and under – South Rovers defeated Kolora Noorat 29-18.

Kolora Noorat’s senior footballers currently sit just outside the top five, in sixth place, percentage behind Panmure after a 10-point loss to South Rovers.

And in the reserves competition, the Power’s 25-point win over South Rovers sees them in seventh on the league ladder – two games out of the five.
