Police warn over dangerous behaviour
POLICE have been disappointed by driver behaviour over the weekend with a number of dangerous drivers caught last Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Corangamite Senior Sergeant Bill Caldow said there were three drink drivers intercepted by police over the weekend across the Corangamite region.
“We’re really disappointed by the number of them,” he said.
“On Friday, we had a 20-year-old Camperdown man who was intercepted as a drink driver – he blew 0.08 in Manifold Street, Camperdown.
“We had a Terang man who blew 0.242 on Sunday night – the law is 0.05, so it’s massive overs in drink driving.
“It’s really concerning and really dangerous what he’s putting other members of the public in.”
Police also intercepted two people who were driving while unlicensed or suspended, one of which led to a vehicle impound.
“We had a 44-year-old Camperdown man intercepted as unlicensed on Friday night,” Snr Sgt Caldow said.
“We had a 76-year-old Camperdown resident intercepted with a suspended licence in Manifold Street on Friday night.
“We had a Snake Valley man intercepted in Camperdown – he had outstanding warrants and he was bailed to appear at the Ballarat Magistrates Court.”
