Police seek information on hoon

CAMPERDOWN Police are seeking information on a vehicle which has been driving dangerously in the Camperdown and Cobden area.

By wd-news

Corangamite Senior Sergeant Bill Caldow said the vehicle has been sighted across various areas in Camperdown and Cobden in the early hours of the morning.

“A black commodore has been hooning around Camperdown and Cobden at night time,” he said.

“We’d like any information to the Camperdown Police station in regard to that.”

Anyone with information or CCTV/dashcam footage is encouraged to contact the Camperdown Police Station on 5593 1000 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers on 1800 33 000 or www.crimestoppersvic.com.au/report-a-crime/.

The appeal comes after police intercepted a Camperdown man who was fined for drink driving, with Snr Sgt Caldow reminding drivers to not drink and drive.

“At about 10pm on Friday, May 2 a Camperdown driver was intercepted in Dover Street in Cobden,” he said.

“He was given a breath test, which was positive.

“He blew 0.141, which is almost three times the legal limit.”

In Australia, the Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) limit is under 0.05 – learner and P-plate drivers have a BAC limit of zero.
