Despite not having any subs on the bench, all players pushed themselves to the limit against a strong Tech side.

The 4-0 loss on the scoreboard was not reflective of how hard the Lakers played to keep the ball away from the scoring area.

The team’s focus was on applying pressure with their second and third attempts at the ball.

The You Rock award, given by coach Sharyn, went to Quinn for his ability to defend the goals in his ‘Superman’ character traits.

Quinn’s leadership in the defence line was also a trademark.

Congratulations to all players for participating at such high intensity.

The Lakers women’s team was victorious against StriTech, with the final score 14-12.

This was a great team effort with multiple goal scorers, Akeisha(6), Ava (4), Taliyah (3) and Megan (1).

Sally and Harmony did a fantastic job in defence with some impressive saves.

In the under 15 match on Saturday, the Lakers faced the top team in the competition, Portland.

Despite being defeated 6-2, the scoreline again did not reflect the effort and team-work on display.

Harmoney was on fire in goal, saving lots of goals, and her trainings at the academy are paying off.

Many thanks to Ant VanBemmel for stepping in and coaching.

The You Rock award went to Harmoney.

The under 12 Lakers also had a great game, with a particular focus on holding to their positions and using the rebound boards.

This was only the second week some players had ever played hockey 5s and they should all be proud of how quickly their skills are developing in this fast-paced version of hockey.
