The open studio brought the works of Merrian Dennis, Monique Pope, Carol Eagle, Fiona Haywood and Dannie Dupleix to light, with many taking the opportunity to speak to the artists and learn more about their processes.

Mrs Eagle, one of the exhibiting artists, said the weekend proved rewarding for all involved.

“There were lots of very interesting conversations, lots of people we haven’t met before, and they came from Warrnambool, Warrnambool and Winchelsea,” she said.

“Lots of people were grateful we open up and show what we do.

“It was a very worthwhile weekend – lots of happiness spread around.

“People were thrilled by the garden, which was really nice.

“Especially for the older people who have been avid gardeners who can’t have a garden anymore – they were able to enjoy seeing it all, so it was lovely.”

Around 60 people visited on the Saturday, with a quiet start on the Sunday showing a constant stream of people over the weekend.

Many enjoyed the opportunity to have a chat with the artists and view the works, while others purchased pieces to enjoy at home.

Mrs Eagle said it was lovely to open the studio for the community to see what the member artists have been doing over the year.

“Thank you to the community for supporting us,” she said.

“It was really nice to see so many faces from around the town.

“It gave us the inspiration to keep opening up.”
