Ongoing dryness
THE region continues to experience a drier-than-average autumn, with April’s rain tally falling below the long term average.

Camperdown recorded 18mm of rainfall in April, which is significantly below the long-term monthly average of 50.7mm.
The figure also falls below the previous year’s total of 56.8mm.
Camperdown’s highest daily rainfall was recorded on April 16, with 4mm falling in the 24-hour period.
To date, Camperdown’s total rainfall for 2025 sits at 68mm.
Meanwhile, Lismore recorded 35.8mm of rainfall for the month.
While the figure is higher compared to Camperdown’s rainfall, it still falls below the long-term average of 49.9mm for Lismore.
Lismore also saw less rain than the previous year, with 52.9mm falling in April 2024.
April 26 saw Lismore’s highest daily rainfall for the month, with 16.6mm hitting the ground.
Lismore’s rainfall tally for 2025 currently sits at 104.2mm.
Derrinallum also recorded more rainfall in April than Camperdown, with 29.4mm hitting the ground over the month.
The figure is lower than the previous year’s total of 47.6mm and is just over half of the monthly average of 50.2mm.
Like Lismore, Derrinallum saw the most rainfall of the month on April 26 with 14.6mm recorded in 24 hours.
Derrinallum’s total rainfall for 2025 currently sits at 76.2mm.
