Alongside mini golf, from 11am-3pm there will be free drinks, face painting, balloon crafts, lollies and fairy floss for all, thanks to sponsorship from the Corangamite Shire.

There will also be a barbecue running, which Rotary Club member Gary Kimber said the club is asking for a small donation for, as the money will go towards youth and community projects.

“The idea is to provide a great time for everybody,” he said.

“We know people come from Colac to Warrnambool and it’s just amazing.

“It’s run by the Rotary Club and we’re all volunteers and our partners assist us such as Friends of Rotary.

“It’ll be a wonderful day and just fingers crossed for some great weather.

“We hope to see as many people as possible, old and young.”

Mr Kimber said the mini golf came to be 25 years ago when Rotary members came together with design ideas and decided to pursue it.

“At that stage, we were linked with the miniature railway and we had several people who wanted to design a course and we had the space,” he said.

“The design went in to the shire and we built it ourselves and it just went from there – it grew and grew and grew.

“Over the last five years through COVID we have strengthened because we’ve been able to get a lot of grants because a lot of COVID recovery money was around.

“It’s now at the wonderful, colourful stage it’s at today, with lots of wonderful obstacles and a great garden.

“There’s lots of prizes for everybody and we promote as far and wide as we can.”

Mr Kimber said Cobden Rotary members were proud of how far they’ve come.

“We’ve been going this long providing great family fun and affordable entertainment,” he said.

“We’ve had several awards from the Corangamite Shire.

“We just love providing this community service.”

Cobden Rotary Mini Golf is located at 29 Grayland Street, Cobden.

Anyone with queries about the day was invited to contact Mr Kimber on 0439 079 098.
