Melodies inspire Room 11 fundraiser
DERRINALLUM’S Community Hall will come alive with music for a fundraiser at the end of the month supporting Ronald McDonald House Room 11.
The fundraiser was inspired by Camperdown’s Morning Melodies and features a line-up of three artists for the afternoon.
Organiser Lorraine Uren said the event is part of the township’s ongoing support for the Ronald McDonald House – which the community has been backing since 2019.
“I’m collecting cans from the bowling club and putting the money away for Room 11 – any way I can make money for them, I do,” she said.
“I approached Bidge (Ian) Boyd and he’s donated his time to come down and sing.
“I’ve also got Di and Kim McCarthy who will be playing – they played out at the Fairway in Lismore, and they play at our monthly lunches.
“It’ll be an afternoon of relaxing and listening to a bit of music, and there will be raffles – I’ve had quite a few donations so far for the raffles.
“Every little dollar helps.”
Rounding out the musical line up is Rosie Pemberton and Co.
The fundraiser is slated for Sunday, November 30 from 1-4pm, with plenty of time for residents to enjoy a bit of a dance and some raffles.
Ms Uren encouraged residents to book their spots by November 23, with tea and coffee provided for the event.
Tickets are $10 per person, and the event is cash-only.
