Magpies named in training squad
CAMPERDOWN footballers Hamish Sinnott, Josh Place and Harry Sumner have been named in Hampden’s under 23 interleague training squad.
The league last week announced its initial training squad of 35 for next month’s interleague battle with Ballarat Football Netball League at Eastern Oval.
The coaching staff of Adam Dowie, Brody Mahoney, Lewy Taylor, Lachie Hupputz and Sam Dobson have selected the training squad, which comprises players from each of the league’s 10 clubs.
The Hampden and Ballarat leagues will play for the newly named Clinton Baulch/John Northey Cup.
The Hampden team will have two training sessions in the lead-up to the interleague clash.
These will be held on Tuesday, July 1 at Victoria Park and Thursday, July 3 at the Reid Oval – with the final team to be selected after the second session.
Along with the Magpies, the team also comprises:
Cobden – Gus Walsh and Luke Smith.
Terang Mortlake - Xavier Vickers, Tyler Vickers, Rhys Buck, Darcy Hobbs and Harvey Roberts.
Hamilton Kangaroos – Will Povey, Vincent Huf and Hamish Cook.
Koroit – Mac Petersen, Thomas Baulch, Tyler Stephens, Clem Nagorcka and Connor Byrne.
North Warrnambool – Harry Keast and Will Brennan.
Port Fairy – Lucas Edmonds.
Portland – Toby Jennings, Charlie Piergrosse, Jack Walsh, Tom Burns, Kade Lovell and Jamieson Ballantyne.
South Warrnambool – Sam Rhodes, Sam Lenehan, Archie Stevens, Max Irving and Riley Thomas.
Warrnambool – Liam Bidmade, Finn Radley, Amon Radley, Reggie Mast and Jaidan Wells.
