Low rain again

THE region has seen a wetter March than the previous year, but rainfall continues to remain below average.

Camperdown experienced 21.5mm of rainfall for the month of March, which falls short of the long-term monthly average of 37.4mm.

The figure, however, is higher than the March 2024 total of 3.5mm.

Camperdown saw its highest daily rainfall on March 17, with 14.5mm recorded in 24 hours.

To date, Camperdown’s total rainfall for 2025 sits at 50mm.

Meanwhile, Lismore recorded 20.8mm of rainfall over the month.

The figure is an improvement on the previous year’s total of 1.8mm, but still falls short of the long-term average of 24.8mm for March.

Lismore’s highest daily rainfall was recorded on March 21, with 5.2mm hitting the ground.

The 2025 rainfall tally for Lismore currently sits at 68.4mm.

Derrinallum also experienced lower-than-average rainfall, with 15mm recorded over the month.

The figure, while higher than the previous year’s total of 2.2mm, falls below the long-term March average of 33.9mm.

Derrinallum saw its highest daily rainfall of 5.2mm hit the ground on March 21.

Derrinallum’s total rainfall for 2025 currently sits at 46.8mm.
