Local horses dominate in Terang
IT was going to take more than a little rain to dampen spirits on a competitive day of races at Dalvui.

The weather was far from ideal during proceedings last Wednesday when the gates opened for the seven-race meet, with 17mm of rain falling on the day.
Despite the conditions, Terang Harness Racing Club president Chris O’Connor said he was thrilled with the racing on display.
“The races were quite good, and interestingly even after all the rain,” he said.
“Alan Driscoll is our curator and he’s done a really good job – so much so that the first race of the program, they ran a very fast 1.54 for the mile, which is quite strong.
“He presented the track in great order despite the conditions.
“Harness racing is quite lucky in that the tracks hold up well, even in torrential rain.”
The day opened with an exceptional battle between locals in the Race One Terang Co-Op Rural Store Pace.
The Lee-trained Jilliby Nitro surged to overcome the challenge of stablemate Keayang Tokyo, with the Craven-trained Young Bluey rounding out the top three.
Race Two Brandt Equipment Pace saw the Barker-trained Dancin With Elvis overcome the Coverdale-trained Ona Merry Dance and stablemate El Awoman.
The Race Three Cobden Artificial Breeders Co-Op Pace saw the Lees snag their second win of the night with Keayang Seaside salute ahead of Major Cruunch (trained Webster) and Ynobe Dalota (Slater)
It was a trio of wins for the Lee family in the Race Four Terang Fitness Maiden Trot when Keayang Bazlenka surged ahead as a heavy favourite to take victory ahead of Trouville Sur Mer (Webster) and Rasengan (Ainsworth).
Race five Reid Stockfeeds Trot saw the long-odds Scar (Young) cross first over Mattyo (Meade) and Aldebaran Buddy (Drury).
The Race Six Crawley’s Milkbar Maiden Pace brought along local victory as the Craven-owned, Roukonen-trained Jilliby Amigo took the crown ahead of Zanda Man (Barker) and stablemate Jilliby Randal.
The final race of the day, the Race Seven Terang Storage Pace, saw Presidentialchange (Barker) claim the final victory of proceedings ahead of Lilstrepo (Slater) and She Will Wantano (East).
