Lions too strong for Swans
CARAMUT’S senior footballers had a 20-point loss to Great Western in round 12 of Mininera League last weekend.
Playing at home, the Swans led by two points at the first change, but the Lions nudged ahead by half-time and increased the margin as the game wore on.
The visitors ran out winners 12.14.86 to 10.6.66.
Coach Scott Judd and forward Charlie Farrer both kicked four goals in the loss for the Swans.
Kobi Bidmade, Thomas O'Sullivan and Jack Gordon were Caramut’s best.
This week Caramut travels to Willaura to take on Moyston/Willaura.
Great Western also took the points in the reserves game, winning 7.5.47 to 5.4.34.
Joe Douglas kicked three goals for Caramut, with Nicholas Borazio, Damian Jones and Michael Payne the Swans best.
In the under 16.5s, Caramut had a 5.8.38 to 4.0.24 win.
Charlie Pearse, Andrew Gapes and Bailey Moloney were best for the junior Swans, with vice-captain Finneaus Dennis kicking two goals.
Great Western had a 41-31 win in the A grade netball.
WhaWha Hapuku and Bella O’Sullivan were best for Caramut, with Chloe Anderson scoring 19 goals.
Great Western had a 26-22 win in the B grade game.
Maddison Higginson was best for Caramut, with Yolie O’Sullivan scoring 15 goals.
In C grade, Caramut had a 31-11 win.
Rachel Hassett scored 25 goals in a best on court performance.
Caramut won the 18 and under netball 31-20.
Maddi Calvert was best for the Swans, with Emilie Tonissen putting through 25 goals.
Grace O’Sullivan and Yolie O’Sullivan were best for Caramut’s 15 and under team in their 30-18 loss.
Yolie O’Sullivan scored 12 goals.
Caramut made it 12 wins without a loss in the 13 and under netball with a 23-14 victory.
Alex Lehmann was best for the Swans, with Payson Walker scoring 10 goals and Lehmann scoring eight.
