Lenny right on target
COBDEN Technical School student Lenny Dobbins had his eye in at the recent South West Zone Clay Target Championships, bringing home the top award.
The south west championships, which were held in Noorat on Thursday, August 28, saw Lenny tie with two others on 19/20 – with a shoot-off then following to determine the overall winner.
Lenny took out the final event, which qualified him to shoot at the state championships which were held in Echuca on Monday, September 1.
Cobden Technical School sent a team of year nine students to the south west championships.
Lenny was joined by Katie H, Jack K, Xander M. Riley B, Ryan B, Seth M, Angus M and Randy A (with some of those students shooting for their first event).
Despite the challenging conditions, it was great to see the students’ dedication and perseverance pay off with some great scores.
At the state championships in Echuca, Lenny shot a 29/30 single barrel to tie in first place, forcing another shoot-off to decide the eventual winner.
He then shot at another 30 targets, finishing the day on 57 from a possible 60 to be placed second overall in the state.
