Ms Wilkinson, who works as a legal assistant at GRIT Legal, is studying Human Rights at Monash University as a second-year student.

She received the School of Philosophical, Historical and International Studies Prize for Best Second Year Student in Human Rights, which recognises the highest academic achievement of all second-year students whose specialisation is Human Rights.

Ms Wilkinson said she felt “very proud” of herself for her dedication to her studies.

“I definitely wasn’t expecting it – I didn’t even know that this award existed,” she said.

“It’s a rewarding feeling to see that my hard work has paid off, and to see the time and effort I have put into my studies is paying off and resulting in academic achievement.

“I’m really grateful for my family, friends and everyone who supports me so that I can put this much time and effort into my university studies.”
