Kids in Port go wild for slime
THE Port Campbell Recreation Reserve turned messy with colour last Thursday as a slime making activity was held for kids.

Creative Minds partnered with local small business WonderSense and thanks to sponsorship by Beach Energy they were able to run the activity from 11am in the recreation reserve for 33 children.
Organiser Sharon Cotton said it was great to have WonderSense come along and provide a fun sensory experience for the kids.
“WonderSense are a local business that move around and do birthday parties and holiday activities as well,” she said.
“They provided sensory trays so it’s a great match for children who have sensory needs.”
Ms Cotton said this was the first time Creative Minds had organised a slime activity day and was happyto see the event successful and popular.
“We usually run varied experiences,” she said.
“Our main focus is supporting children who are neurodivergent but in the holidays we like to open it up to create inclusive art and craft opportunities.
“We’ve previously had a focus on the Loch Ard peacocks so we had an instruction taken by our in-house artist Clare Younis who talked us through it.
“We had a session for that and we had a session specifically for children who are neurodivergent to create beautiful Loch Ard peacock paintings.”
Ms Cotton said it was through an ongoing partnership with Beach Energy which allowed Creative Minds to continue supporting children, specifically neurodivergent kids, within Corangamite Shire.
“Sally Cashmore and I started Creative Minds together as we both have neurodivergent children and noticed a lack of programs specifically for neurodivergent children in our area,” she said.
“We will be running art sessions for neurodivergent children in Term Three in a six-week block.
“These sessions are specifically designed for neurodivergent children to access art experiences.
“Thanks to Beach Energy subsidising the cost of these sessions, they will only cost families $10 out-of-pocket per child, per session.”
Anyone interested in signing their child up for future sessions can contact Ms Cotton on 0418 507 256.
