Kettle boiling for BMT
BENALLACK’S Sports’ Michelle Elijah and Revamp Hair and Beauty’s Tarna Alexander are boiling the kettle in preparation for this year’s Biggest Morning Tea.

BENALLACK’S Sports’ Michelle Elijah and Revamp Hair and Beauty’s Tarna Alexander are boiling the kettle in preparation for this year’s Biggest Morning Tea.
The morning tea will be held at Revamp tomorrow from 10.30am onwards, with a takeaway stall in front of Benallack’s from 9am for those unable to make the event.
In the lead-up to the event, donation tins have been given to supporting businesses and yo-yos can be purchased from Revamp or Benallack’s for $5 a bag.
All proceeds from the yo-yo sales will also go towards Cancer Council.
Ms Elijah said cookies would be sold at the stall, with raffle tickets being sold on the day as well.
“There’ll be some trivia game and raffles you can buy tickets to go into, and there’s some great prizes for that as well,” she said.
“It just adds a bit of fun, so you’d be able to pick up a trivia form before or during the day, and the winners will have some great prizes.
“There are also takeaway plates available for Friday afternoon tea, or Monday morning tea, we can deliver.
“If people would like to give me a call on 0488 605 554, there will be people to do it on the day.”
Anyone interested in attending can RSVP Ms Alexander on 0455 931 762, with a gold coin donation entry fee.
Ms Elijah said she was hoping to raise even more money for Cancer Council, after last year’s fundraised $1467.38.
“If we can raise more than we did last year, that’d be great, but it doesn’t matter; it’s about the cause and about people getting together and awareness,” she said.
“Cancer touches everybody at some stage or another, so it’s just a nice way to give back.
“Come along and have a bit of fun, have a chat, stay warm, and we’re looking forward to it.”
