Keira Gold Coast bound
CAMPERDOWN Golf Magpies Bowling Club junior member Keira Johnston will represent the club at state level.
Keira has been selected as one of four emergencies for the Victorian under 18 squad who will play at Pine Rivers Bowling Club on the Gold Coast in July.
Keira attended the School Sports Victoria under 18 trials in Sunbury on April 7 where she competed against 24 other under 18 bowlers from all over the state.
School Sports Victoria offers sporting children the opportunity in a variety of sports to represent their school, club and state.
Sixteen year-old Keira has also had success at club level this season having been runner up in the West Coast Bowls Region Singles Championship losing the title by one shot.
She also partnered current Ladies Singles runner-up Ro Dunstan to win the ladies pairs.
Keira will now attend a practice match at Sunbury Bowling Club on July 7.
The club is right behind her in her endeavors to go as far as she can with her bowling career.
