Inspired start for Noorat’s leaders
NOORAT Primary School’s 2026 leadership team have hit the ground running after attending an event designed to boost their leadership traits.

Noorat Primary School principal Ilona Watkins said school captains Charlotte and Ryan, in addition to community leaders Callum and Charli, were already making a positive difference for students.
“Our two school leaders this year are Charlotte and Ryan,” she said.
“They will be working alongside our two community leaders, Callum and Charli.
“Our student leadership team is elected after preparing speeches which are given to the school community.

“We also have students in Years Three to Six who are part of student leadership to start building their skills and confidence – learning from their peers and staff.”
Mrs Watkins said the students had hit the ground running, taking on new responsibilities while also developing their own skillset to enhance their leadership.
“Student leaders this year are prioritising the wellbeing of all through our Noorat Food Hub and school animals (turtle, axolotl, guinea pigs, chickens and hermit crabs), as well as the creation of our outdoor wellbeing space,” she said.
“They were truly inspired by the official Student Leaders Congress event in Warrnambool at Deakin University which had student leaders from across most schools in our area.”
