Heavy loss for Demons
TIMBOON copped a heavy loss in its round 16 senior football clash at Nirranda; the home team winning by 90 points.

The Demons finals hopes remain on a knifes edge after the 18.11.119 to 4.5.29 loss pushed them out of the five on percentage.
Best for Timboon in the loss were Nathan Ellemor, Ben Newey, Jack McGlade, Tomas Lindquist, Brad Gillingham and Ash Hunt.
Ellemor, Tom Hunt, Tyler Thorburn and Josh Worboys kicked a goal each for the Demons.
This week the Demons head to Merrivale to take on the top of the ladder Tigers.
Nirranda was too strong in the reserves football, winning 12.6.78 to 3.2.20.
Eddie Gaut, Bailey Delaney and Henry Stansfield were the Demon’s best, with Eben White kicking all three of Timboon’s goals.
Timboon had a two point win, 4.11.35 to 5.3.33, in the under 18 football.
Thomas Ryan, Rileigh Williams and Hugh Smith were best for Timboon, with Ryan kicking three goals.
In the under 15 football, Nirranda registered a 4.0.24 to 3.3.21 win.
Alby Jones, Leonardo Bickell and Zack Delaney were best for the Demons, with Jones, Delaney and Beau Mackieson kicking a goal each.
In the under 13s, Timboon had a big 10.9.69 to no score win.
Jed Watson, Beau Mackieson and Zane Schawalder were best for the junior Demons, with Watson kicking three and Schawalder two.
In the A grade netball, ladder leaders Nirranda was too strong, scoring a 60-27 victory.
‘It’s always tough against Nirranda,” Timboon coach Danica Clough said.
“Their full court defence is exceptional, they’re unbeaten for a reason.”
Timboon went into half time 30-18 down.
“We were happy with our first half, we worked hard and pressured them well,” Clough said.
“We really dropped off in the third quarter, our defensive pressure was down and goals just weren’t dropping for us.”
Under 15 player Taya Hanegraaf made her A grade debut and was named in the Demons best, along with Beth Hallyburton and Simone McLaren.
“Taya played wing defence and goal defence, she really shone on debut and combined well with Beth.
“Beth was solid in her footwork in defence, while Simone in the middle gave us really strong drive.”
Timboon is one of three teams level on six wins who are fighting for fifth spot.
“We’ve got some big games coming up, we’ll keep a positive attitude.”
Nirranda had a 46-33 win in the A reserve netball.
Macy Gale scored 24 goals and Evie Gordon nine for the Demons, with that pair and Kira Gordon Timboon’s best.
The B grade game saw Nirranda record a 51-29 win.
Elle Bryant, Allison Cook and Jenifer Trigg were the Demons best, with Nicole Burvill shooting 15 goals and Sarah Brown 12.
Timboon scored a 45-11 win in the 17 and under netball.
Ruby Jones, Olivia Benson and Meg Duro were named as the Demons best, with Evie Gordon scoring 24 goals and Duro 21.
In the 15 and under match, Timboon recorded a 28-12 win.
Taya Hanegraaf, Ellen Whiting and Ruby Pender were named as best for the Demons.
Bella Savage top scored with 16 goals, Ella Drayton and Aysha Hollick shooting six each.
The 13 and under game saw Timboon have a big 46-17 win.
Tilly Wallace and Ruby Flynn were best for the Demons, with Indii McKenzie scoring 28 goals and Grace Richardson 16.
