Haddon too strong

LISMORE had a seven wicket loss to the undefeated Haddon in round six of the Grenville Cricket Association on Saturday.


Batting first at the Haddon Recreation Reserve, Lismore made 9/161 from its 40 overs.

On debut for the club, Lachie Coutts opened the batting and impressed with 34 from 42 balls, including four boundaries.

Hely De Silva made 37 from 51 balls with five fours, with Scott Walker unbeaten on 19 from 32.

The Lismore bowlers found wickets hard to come by, as the reigning premiers passed their score in the 30th over, three wickets down.

Coutts took the new ball with Cooper Cahill and took 1/36 from six overs.

Cahill was the most economical of the Lismore bowlers with 0/25 from eight, with Clint Dudman and Kelly Brain taking a wicket each.

This week Lismore host Carranballac at the Lismore Recreation Reserve.

In the under 16s, Lismore had a 19 run loss to Linton at Linton.

The home team batted first and made 1/125 from its 25 overs, the sole wicket coming from a Bailey Childs run out.

In reply, Lismore made 3/106.

Jack Fay top scored with 25 from 20 balls, with Jackson Rumler unbeaten on 22.

This week in the under 16s Lismore play Rokewood at Rokewood.

Derrinallum had the bye in the senior competition and return to action this week with a trip to play Linton at Linton.

In the under 16s, Derrinallum defeated Rokewood at Derrinallum.

Batting first, the visitors made 4/77 from their 25 overs.

Alexander Cronly led the Tigers bowlers with 2/4 from two overs, with Fletcher Greig and Eddie Gellie taking a wicket each.

Derrinallum replied with 5/79 from 25 overs to record a narrow win.

Charles Turner with 16 not out and Eddie Gellie were there at the end to get the Tigers over the line, with Fletcher Greig earlier making 15.

This week in the under 16s Derrinallum play Linton at Linton.
