Great Vic Bike Ride coming to C’mite
BICYCLE Network has announced the next era of the Great Victorian Bike Ride will start with a return to the Great Ocean Road, with townships within the western district set to benefit.
After 40 years, the Great Vic Bike Ride will become a five-day event with an emphasis on a more relaxed experience.
The Great Victorian Bike Ride is an annual bike riding event which sees cyclists travelling along a set route and camping within the area to take in the sights.
Bicycle Network chief executive officer Alison McCormack said this year will include five days of riding – visiting three towns and including two loop rides.
“The 2025 ride features 300km of Great Ocean Road coastlines, cliffs and winding country roads – this is what bucket-list biking is all about,” she said.
“The Great Vic community makes this holiday an adventure like no other.”
Riders will have a choice of arriving in Mortlake on either Sunday, November 23 or Monday, November 24 before setting off for Koroit.
Day two will see riders loop through Port Fairy, Tower Hill and cycle along the coast.
Riders will then travel to Port Campbell along the Great Ocean Road on Wednesday, November 26.
Thursday, November 27 will see riders loop around Port Campbell, with stops at the Twelve Apostles and in Timboon.
The final day will see riders make their way from Port Campbell to Camperdown.
The ride is a fully catered, tent-based holiday. There is extensive on-route support, luggage transfers, entertainment, medical team, bicycle repair facilities, eBike charging and much more.
Early bird registrations run until August 2, with riders able to save up to $300.
The five-day ride is $950 for adults, $750 for under 18s, and free for five and under.
From August 3, the cost is $1250 for adults, $950 for under 18s, and free for five and under – Bicycle Network members get 10 per cent off all prices.
The 2025 Great Vic Bike Ride is supported by Moyne Shire Council, Warrnambool City Council and Corangamite Shire Council.
