Grant wins A grade final
DARREN Grant has won the men’s A grade final at the Mortlake Bowls Club.

Grant faced John Tanner in the final last Sunday and both players kept the scoring tight until Darren began to break away.
Undeterred, Tanner started to creep back into the game, making Darren’s target of 25 harder to get.
A few shots by Tanner deserved better than little to no result, but congratulations to the men’s A grade champion, Darren Grant and well done to runner-up John Tanner.
The women’s A grade final will be played at a different date (to be advised).
The women’s draw had Sandra Richie defeat Glenice Kenna and she now waits the winner of Gertie MacDonald v Wilma McDonald and Dianne Robertson v Rita Pasque.
In club championship news, the 100 Up Championship is up to the grand final stage.
For the women, Gertie MacDonald will play Lyn O’Shannessy.
In the men’s 100 Up Championship grand final, Kevin Johnson and Scott Pierce played last Sunday in glorious sunshine.
Johnson had a handicap of 15 while Pierce had a handicap of 21.
Pierce started off well but Johnson kept in touch and by the mid-section had made up some ground and, for a short time, took the lead.
Congratulations to the men’s champion Scott Pierce and runner-up Kevin Johnson.
