Fundraising supports welcome equipment upgrade
THE Terang Hospital has welcomed a new piece of equipment thanks to a generous donation raised through a collaborative effort between a local business owner and the Terang Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.

The funds were raised in March when Susan Coolahan from Abbey Lane on High, in conjunction with the Terang Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, hosted a fashion parade.
The proceeds were donated to Terang and Mortlake Health Service (TMHS), and were recently used to fund a valued piece of equipment.
TMHS chief executive officer Julia Ogdin expressed her thanks to both Susan Coolahan and Terang Hospital Ladies Auxiliary members for their “ongoing and greatly appreciated support” of the health service.
“Funds raised from the event have been used to purchase an Alaris infusion pump for use in our health service theatre,” she said.
“The pump is a medical device that delivers fluids, medications, blood, or blood products to patients in a controlled and precise manner, either continuously or intermittently, which is a valued piece of equipment to assist in the care of our patients.”
Terang Hospital Ladies Auxiliary secretary Susan Keane visited Terang Hospital on Monday to view the equipment.
She said members of the auxiliary were proud to host a range of events each year, raising funds for a great cause which benefits the wider community.
“We have three or four major fundraising functions each year, starting off with a golf, bowls and croquet night,” Mrs Keane said.
“We get quite a few members in attendance for that and it usually raises around $2000.
“We then have a fashion parade with the support of Susan Coolahan, which raises around another $2000.
“Next, we’ll be having our annual jazz afternoon, which will be coming on the second Sunday of July, featuring a band called Hot B Hines, which is very easy listening.
“We’re also hoping to have an open garden in Mortlake later in the year, but we’re still working out details.”
