Fun, fashion and a good night out
ONE hundred and thirty people came together to celebrate a Ladies Day for a worthy cause which beat the previous year’s fundraising total.

This year’s event managed to raise over $13,000 for Carrie’s Beanies for Brain Cancer, which surpassed last year’s total of $7418 raised for Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.
Organiser Chloe O’Brien said she was “super proud” of the fundraising total, saying the event was “fantastic”.
“It was a mix of public speaking and we had a fashion show which some local businesses ran – we had Here, run by Emily Blomfield, and Kirsty Green, who runs Vintage Gnotuk – which was a really great way to light up the event after we had some guest speakers,” she said.
“We had Sam McGuane, who is a supporter and ambassador for Beanies for Brain Cancer, and he shared some really great information.
“We also did a couple of personalised stories – we had a couple of families who had experienced brain cancer before come up to speak, which was really great.
“This is the fourth year we’ve done this, so for us to keep it up and the community still being willing to be involved is a credit to the club.”
Ms O’Brien extended her gratitude to all who came along and donated, as well as those who supported the event.
“I’d like to thank the Stephenson family for their involvement and support on the day, and the Camperdown Football Netball Club netballers for helping to create such a nice event as well as their commitment and support for the cause,” she said.
