“They’re a very good team North Warrnambool; they play a very distinctive brand of football,” Camperdown coach Clinton Thomas said.

The Magpies led at quarter time by four points, and trailed by five points at half time before the visitors asserted control.

“We made a few deviations on how we want to play which they capitalised upon,” Thomas said.

The Eagles kicked 10 goals to three in the second half, but Thomas saw plenty of positives in the loss.

“We showed we have the ability to mix it with one of the very best teams in the competition, we just need to learn to do it for four quarters.

“It’s another step in continuing to grow; there’s no ceiling on what’s possible for the team going forward.”
