Final round awaits Tigers

SIMPSON’S final home game of the season saw its senior footballers go down to South Colac by 47 points.


The Tigers threw everything at the visitors in the first half, just three points separating the teams at the main break.

South Colac kicked 10 goals to three in the second half to record a 15.6.96 to 7.7.49 win.

Darcy Leishman, Jayden Rooke, Tanner Fratantaro, Tom Leishman, Ryleigh McVilly and Bailey Vines were best for Simpson in the loss.

Louis Duynhoven and Tom Leishman kicked two each for the Tigers.

Under 18 player BradeyFratantaro became the latest player to make his senior debut for Simpson and was a solid contributor.

The Tigers finish their season this week with a trip to Lorne to play the second-placed Dolphins.

In the reserves, South Colac scored a 51-point win, 10.12.72 to 3.3.21.

Luke Hutton, David Weel and captain Harry Fleming were Simpson’s best in the loss, with Brodie Neale kicking two goals and Jason Kordupel one.

In the under 18s, South Colac had a strong 20.21.141 to 0.1.1 win.

Blake Ferrari, Noah Clark and Louis Janssen were Simpson’s best.

In the under 15 football, South Colac dominated with a 31.18.204 to 0.1.1 victory.

Xander Weel, Ben Vogels and Kade Mason were best for the Tigers.

The under 12 game saw South Colac have a 6.6.42 to 0.3.3 win.

In the A grade netball, Simpson lost 65-44 to fifth-placed South Colac.

Eliza Duynhoven scored 35 goals and was best for Simpson along with Holly Duynhoven and Milah Crole.

South Colac got the points in the B grade netball with a 38-37 win.

Best for Simpson were Carol Arndell, Claudia Richardson and Brianna Gass, with Melissa Drayton scoring 19 goals and Gass 18.

Simpson had a 40-36 win in the C grade game.

Best for the Tigers were Harriette O’Hanlon, Hayley Weel and Kayla Hallybuton, with Hallyburton scoring 22 goals and Rachael Duynhoven 18.

In D grade, South Colac had a 33-26 win.

Best for the Tigers were Leesa Seabrook, Shayla Daniels and Olivia Rhode, with Brianna Ferrari shooting 17 goals.

The 17 and under match saw South Colac have a strong 57-7 win.

Shayla Daniels, Amelia Daniels and Kaylee Jansen were Simpson’s best in the loss.

Simpson scored a 39-23 win in the 15 and under netball.

Kustom Robertson scored 31 goals and was named best on court alongside Milah Crole and Tyra Sambell.

South Colac got the points in the 13 and under game with a 24-20 win.

Alexis Barake, Nyha Ford and Ayla Crole were Simpson’s best, with Mia Arndell scoring 12 goals.
