Final race for cyclists
CAMPERDOWN Cycling Club had its final race of the summer series for 2025-26 last week.

Last Thursday’s stormy, wet conditions saw riders grabbing wet weather gear that they hadn’t worn all series - and remembering how to handle the wet roads.
In the junior championship race, riders started in their age groups, riding against each other to the finish line.
The winners were celebrated as the champion of their age group at the breakup night at the Hampden.
The champions were given sashes as a momento of their achievements on the night.
Congratulations to Eleanor, Henry, Bentley, Quinn, Ava, and Josh for winning the championship race.
The aggregate winners were determined on a points system based on performance, attendance, and place getting.
Congratulations to Oliver Clark, winner of the senior aggregate summer series, and junior aggregate winner, Finny.
Both awards were announced on the night.
The club has held the Saul Pasque race close to members’ hearts.
At the breakup celebrations last year, Barb, Nina and Cain introduced the next generation of Camperdown Cycling members to Saul’s journey, how he supported the club and his racing accomplishments.
This award, in Saul’s name, is to help an up and coming rider with purchasing cycling equipment or enabling the rider compete in interclub events.
It will allow the rider to bridge the gap in junior country cycling and give the rider a helping hand to achieve goals they set.
Last year, the Camperdown Cycling Club, with the help from the Pasque family, awarded the first award to Josh.
On Thursday night the club invited Josh to speak on his year as the award recipient.
He spoke about his achievements and what he put the scholarship towards (which helped him have a great season).
This year’s award was won by Rieley.
The club looks forward to watching Rieley achieve his goals in the up-and-coming season and thanks the Pasque family for its continued support of the club’s junior riders.
The Geoff Kane and Harold Lamb winners, Bede and Finny from earlier in the season, were also presented with their trophies.
The next season will start in October.
All interested riders are encouraged to contact 0407 335 546.
The AGM will be announced prior to the start of the summer series.
