Easter weekend in Cobden
THIS Sunday will see the Cobden Rotary Club hosting their annual Easter Egg-stravaganza which they’re anticipating will be bigger and better than ever.

On Sunday, April 5 the Cobden Rotary Mini Golf will be open for one of its biggest days yet, coinciding with the Australian Association of Live Steamers annual convention hosted at the Cobden Miniature Railway.
“This year we’re having two Easter egg hunts – because it’s the same weekend as the train convention, we’re hoping for a huge crowd,” Cobden Rotary president Gary Kimber said.
“The first one will be at 11am for children up to Grade Two, then 12.30pm for children from Grade Three and above.
“We’re expecting a great number of kids, a great number of families and of course, while they’re there, the Easter bunny will be out and about saying hello and getting photos taken – it’s just a magnificent family day.”
Mr Kimber said alongside mini golf opening up after the free Easter egg hunt, attendees would have the Easter raffle to look forward to.
“Mini golf will be running all day as well – straight after the hunt will be right into the mini golf and we’ll be drawing our major Easter raffle as well,” he said.
“The raffle has a barbecue as first prize, second prize is a night in Melbourne, third prize is a set of kitchen knives and fourth prize is a voucher from Nell’s Café in Cobden.
“All the funds are going to the appeal to reopen the heated pool in Cobden.”
Mr Kimber said the mini golf would be opening more over Easter to support the traffic at the nearby convention.
“We’re actually having mini golf every day of Easter just to support the train people because there will be a lot of people around,” he said.
“We’re actually opening mini golf all weekend as well – Friday, Saturday and Sunday, all part of a wonderful Easter weekend for Cobden.”
