Drunk driver caught in Cobden
DRIVERS are being urged to take caution after police intercepted a drunk driver over the weekend.
Camperdown Police Acting Senior Constable Craig Merry said a 25-year-old man was intercepted in the Cobden area and blew 0.67 on a preliminary breath test.
The man was issued an infringement notice.
Act Snr Const Merry reminded drivers to take care on the roads, particularly as the drink driver was detected the same weekend as two road collisions near Simpson.
“We’ve had a busy weekend with road collisions,” he said.
“It’s just a reminder that police are out in force and we’re going to enforce the road rules.
“Please drive safely and make sure you drive with due care and attention.
“Police are out – we will be detecting the main five contributing factors to crashes which are speeding, drink driving, drug driving, distraction and mobile phones.”
