Drawn result for Magpies
CAMPERDOWN has snatched a thrilling draw in its round 15 senior football clash against South Warrnambool at the Leura Oval.

The Magpies kicked two late last quarter goals to lead by a point in the dying minutes.
South Warrnambool’s Walker Owen took a strong mark and kicked a behind after the siren to level the scores at 9.4.58 to 8.10.58.
“I was ok with whatever the result was going to be, we had a good hitout against a really strong team,” Camperdown coach Clinton Thomas said.
“We continue to grow and rise to the challenge.”
The Magpies led by 16 points at half time, South Warrnambool then got on top in the third term to wrest back the lead.
“It was an interesting contrast,” Thomas said.
“They got a run-on in the third with goals coming from their stoppage work, and in the fourth we capitalised on their turnovers and played how we aim to play.”
Luke O’Neil and Josh Place were rated as Camperdown’s best.
“Luke and Josh were really strong down back and gave us a lot of drive,” Thomas said.
“Zach Sinnott and Harry Sumner were important too, both giving us another consistent performance.”
Young forward Aidan Conheady kicked two goals and also impressed his coach.
“Aidan was part of our forward rotation, he was creative, we gave him license to play with freedom.
“His defensive pressure was fantastic.”
Of drawing the game, Thomas said both teams had their chances to win.
“Both teams would lament missed opportunities.
“But the day was validation again that we can do it against the big teams.”
