“I’m pretty proud of the boys; we haven’t had much success against Penshurst the last six years, especially on their ground,” Demons coach Alec Wiltshire said.

Penshurst led at every break but were held scoreless in the final term, the Demons kicking five last quarter goals and three behinds to run over the top of the Bombers.

“There was a big momentum swing late in the third quarter; Riley Browne kicked a goal into what was a very strong wind and that really lifted us.”

Wiltshire said the addition of Browne and Jayden Molloy for the game strengthened the side.

“They (Browne and Molloy) immediately added some stronger, older bodies to complement our young players and made a difference.”

Lachie Constable continued his good form in front of the sticks with four goals, while midfielder Blake Scott kicked two.

Best for the Demons were Austin Humphrey, Henry Walsh and Josh Sanders.

“We swung the magnets around in the second half and got some good results,” Wiltshire said.

Despite the win, Wiltshire wants his team to remain grounded.

“It’s only round three; we’ve started well but there’s a long way to go and plenty of work to do.”

Penshurst got the points in the reserves with a 9.8.62 to 6.10.46 win.

Lismore Derrinallum had six individual goal kickers, with veteran Todd Lamont the Demons’ best.

Penshurst had a big win in the under 16.5 football, scoring 11.13.79 to the Demons 1.3.9.

Bailey Childs kicked the only major for Lismore Derrinallum, with Campbell Greig, Jack Fay and Luke Bond best for the Demons.

Penshurst proved far too strong in the A grade netball, scoring a 61-20 win.

Emily Murray shot 14 goals for the A grade Demons and was named best player for the team.

The Demons’ B grade side had a tight contest, with the game ending in a 25-all draw.

For the Demons, Stella Horspole top scored with 12 goals with Bridgette Filbay scoring 11.

Horspole was named best alongside Sophie Cook and Kaila Scott.

Penshurst took out the C grade netball 28-14.

Tiarna Evans was best for the C grade Demons, while Sophie Sumner top scored with nine goals.

Penshurst was too good in the 18 and under game with a 36-16 win.

Jessica Miller and Georgia Somerville were best for Lismore Derrinallum.

The 15 and under netball saw a 14 goal win to Penshurst, 24-10, while eight goals to Alexis Henderson helped Lismore Derrinallum to a 9-2 win in the 13 and under match.
